Gregory J. Horeth

Greg Horeth, an industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience, joins Spire Hospitality as the chief operating officer.
Responsible for daily operations of Spire Hospitality’s expanding platform, Horeth began his career in entry-level assignments, rising through the ranks to hold general manager positions at diverse hotels across the country. His hotels have been recognized through numerous awards for guest and associate satisfaction including the “Hotel of the Year” award with Marriott Corporation and Meristar Hotels and Resorts. As a result of his success, Horeth was selected as general manager of the year for Meristar Hotels and hotelier of the year by the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association. Prior to joining Spire Hospitality, Horeth held the position of vice president of operations for Winegardner and Hammons, Inc. for nine years. He held similar positions with Interstate Hotels and Resorts (Meristar) and Carnival Hotels and Resorts.
Horeth has served on renowned committees focusing on the hospitality industry and civic responsibilities. He held positions on both the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association and the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association executive committees. Currently, Horeth is the co-chair of the IHLA Stars of the Industry and was the past co-chair of the GNMA Lights Festival. He has also been a member of the Roosevelt University Hospitality Advisory Council.
Having received his Hotel and Restaurant degree at the State University of New York at Canton, Horeth upholds the academic responsibilities of the industry giving lectures at various institutions including, Michigan State University, Roosevelt University and Louis University.
